We Celebrated World Milk Day and World Environment Day We Can Build a Cleaner and Livable World.
With the decision taken by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), June 1 is celebrated worldwide as “World Milk Day” to promote milk production and consumption, emphasize the nutritional value of milk and commemorate the importance of milk producers. At a time when concerns about food sufficiency and the search for sustainability in agriculture are increasing, the role of milk and dairy products in feeding the world’s ever-growing population is getting stronger.
In this context, we celebrated World Milk Day on June 1 and World Environment Day on June 5 with the students, teachers and parents of Tekirdağ- Muratlı Metropolitan Municipality Cumhuriyet Primary School in a festive atmosphere at our event at Dost Çiftlik. Within the scope of the event, after tasting fresh milk, we explained the healthy milk production stages in our farm to our little guests accompanied by our veterinarians, fed the calves and examined the robotic milking systems on site. They observed the labor in the production of each drop of milk and the sustainable farm understanding on site.
In addition to milk production, we explained the importance of recycling and zero waste. We explained how we compost fertilizers and how we meet our energy needs from our solar panels. They learned how to plant seedlings using compost fertilizer with our expert team to understand how enjoyable and important it is to grow their own food.
The Future is in Our Hands
As Dost Çiftlik, we will continue to do our best to raise awareness among future generations about environmental awareness, nature-friendly production, labor and sustainability. Because we know that by guiding them correctly, we can build a cleaner and more livable world.
