We started our Dost Mezat, auction livestock sale event, where producers can access disease-free, high genetic cattle breeds, at our Dost Angus Adana facility.
In the event we organized in our Dost Angus facility, we brought together 200 pregnant heifers, broodstock, breeding heifers, fattening dams, heifers under bulls and calves (Angus, Simmental) with high genetic structure, free from disease, with the producers and offered them for sale through auction.
Producers submitted their bids for the animals they liked and experienced a competitive and fair pricing process. The animals we raised in our farm and offered for sale found their new owners.
Dost Mezat Open to All Producers
Our General Manager Ahmet Bozkurt stated that with this auction, we aim to prevent manipulative prices in the market. Bozkurt stated that they can increase the auction days according to demand and said, “Our aim is to support our producers and put them in a stronger position. This auction system prevents intermediation and enables our producers to sell their animals at their real value. This is a platform open to all producers, not just our business,” he said.
Healthy and Disease-Free Animals
Bozkurt stated that the animals sold at the auction are subjected to health checks and buyers are given detailed information about the health status and nutritional conditions of the animals by our professional teams (veterinarians, health technicians). He also emphasized that they continue to provide 24-hour service to buyers for after-sales support.
“A Very Different Event from the Animal Market”
Mehmet Çelik, one of the producers who participated in our auction, stated that he considered this organization as a pioneering work on behalf of our country and said, “There are animal markets in every province, but this is a very different event. I found it very successful,” he said.

Ahmet Yücesan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association of Red Meat Industrialists and Producers, stated that auctions are an important opportunity to prevent artificial price increases. Yücesan said, “We want such events to be more widespread. In this way, we believe that both producers and consumers will meet with fairer prices.”
“Dost Mezat, Practical Training Environment for the Academy”
Çukurova University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Lecturer Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ebru Bilen said: “We see this organization organized by Dost Angus as an important environment where producers and academia come together directly. We consider this organization as a training area where we can both see the current livestock market and our students can make actual applications in their professional fields. In this area, we will be able to provide applied trainings to our students. We also believe that we will make important contributions to the development of bilateral cooperation between the academy and the business world related to animal husbandry”. She said.
